Avalon Huntington Station
AvalonBay is excited to be working with the Town of Huntington to create the largest Transit-Oriented-Development (TOD) community on Long Island. The site is located within 1/4 mile of the Huntington LIRR Station and presents a unique opportunity to create a walkable TOD with a mix of quality housing types that addresses the growing need of our next generation. The site will include one of the largest creations of workforce housing in Long Island's history which will address the housing needs of LI's young adults as well as our empty nesters. After consultation with the Town of Huntington, Avalon Huntington Station is now a proposed development of 490 units of mixed residential housing, including both rental and home ownership with a 25% component of workforce, next generation and moderate priced housing in one, two and three bedroom homes. Avalon signature amenities will include a clubhouse, swimming pool, fitness center and BBQ courtyard areas. Avalon Huntington Station will be located at East 5th Street on approximately 30 acres within a 1/4 mile of the Long Island Railroad Station. In building Avalon Huntington Station, we will incorporate many of the proven planning techniques for Transit Oriented Development and Smart Growth that have been successful in other parts of Long Island and throughout the country.
